 | | | | Customer Reviews: Average Rating: Rating : - Beer -> Cold Quickly! I really like to buy single bottle fancy beers, Dogfish Head 120, Fullers ESB, Double IPAs and some other really odd stuff. However most of the time they are warm when bought and my normal solution is to put them in the refrigerator overnight (waiting! no....!) or putting them in a bowl of ice and water and waiting an hour. The cooper cooler does exactly what it says. You put 2 big handfuls of ice in, 16oz of water, press a few buttons in an in about 5 minutes you have a very cold big bottle of beer. You can chill about 4 bottles with 1 set of ice, now that says something. You are melting about 2 trays of ice, so you know the cold is going straight into the bottle.
For the price and what it's doing, it's hard to buy. But as a gift it's great. It is noisy and I haven't had any problems cleaning up the way that you have to pour out. I'd say it's about as loud as a Dustbuster (hand held vacuum), maybe like an electric pencil sharpener. It won't blow you away with noise but you'd be angry if somebody turned it on in the room and you were watching TV. Still it's only on for a few minutes. My only issue with it at all is how it cools down the drink with the spinning motion (which you can turn off but it takes longer to chill). It doesn't blow it up or anything, but it almost seems to slightly DE-fizz the beverage. Not a whole lot, but it does seem a little less fizzy and I get a little less head on my beer. I'd give it 4 stars for the fizz issue, but you can always turn off the spin and honestly unless you are a beer nerd (I am) you won't notice the very slight de-fizz.
I've done extensive testing (haha..) with Sam Adams Boston Larger and it does go from room temp to refrigerator cold about 3.5 minutes (it times it for you) and to ice cold in about 7 minutes.
Overall, I'm glad I've got it. If it broke I'd probably buy another one. Everybody thinks it's great when they come over. I never fear about buying a warm 6 pack or single now and it's actually kind of fun! + See Full Customer Review | | | | |
